Running Shoes for Life & Fitness - Supporting San Diego Foster Youth

- Our goal is to provide running shoes for San Diego Foster Youth in junior high and high school. Our founder was a foster mom herself, and knows firsthand the needs of foster youth and the lack of available funding for basic necessities and inclusive opportunities. With a new pair of running shoes, these kids can fit in better in school PE classes, join the track team, enjoy running events, or just get out and run or walk. These activities can boost self-confidence, make going to school easier, and improve mental/physical health.  

We have plans to make our first shoe distribution of running shoes this November with the Silver Strand Half marathon and 5K with additional distribution this Christmas season. We are also planning on putting on a running clinic and fun run for children at the Coronado Valentine's Day 10K / 5K/ and 1 mile run Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024.

Our goal is to provide 300 pairs of shoes for these deserving kids by the February event.

Life Sports Foundation - is a proud supporter of Promises2Kids.

Promises2Kids annually provides over 3,000 current and former foster youth in San Diego County with the tools, opportunities and guidance they need to address the circumstances that brought them into foster care, overcome the difficulties of their past, and grow into healthy and successful adults. Life Sports has held Christmas toy, and gift card drives at Three Hills Winery in Ramona, CA as well as supporting Promises2Kids annual fundraising gala, and annual wine for their annual wine auction.

Athlete Sponsorship

Life Sports Foundation provides differently-abled athletes or athletes facing adverse situations funding and entries to participate in endurance sports such as Cycling, Running, and Triathlon events. To apply for funds please email carrie@LifesSportsFoundation.com

Team Hoyt San Diego

Through a partnership with KOZ Events (San Diego’s Premier Endurance Sports provider,) Life Sports Foundation was able to raise $11,000 for a specialized Push Chair for Team Hoyt San Diego. The chair was presented to Team Hoyt at the Silver Strand Half Maraton & 5K on November 13th, 2022.
